The Peach and Cherry Orchard at Country Meadows York-South - Planted Fall 2024
Cages protect the young trees from neighborhood deer. If unprotected, deer will strip the trees of their leaves.
Check the trees in mid-to late April to see the beautiful white cherry and pink peach blossoms.
These cherry trees are selected for their hardiness and consistent production in an organic orchard.
The cherries turn from pink to red when ripe, usually around mid-June. Sour cherries are commonly used in desserts, or enjoyed fresh.
The peaches will be ready at the end of June. Give them a squeeze to see if they are soft before picking.
The Blueberry Patch at Country Meadows of York-South - Planted Fall 2024
When the blueberries look like this, get ready, they’ll be ripe in 7–10 days.
Blueberries will be ready by mid-June. They don’t all ripen at once - pick only the berries that are fully colored.
Birds love blueberries as much as we do. Visit the patch in the morning to beat the birds to the daily harvest.
Raspberry Trellis at Country Meadows of York-South - Planted Spring 2025
Check the trellis in late May to catch the first berries of the season. They are ready to be picked when they turn from pink to red.
It’s okay if you miss the first batch - these plants keep producing berries all summer and into the fall.
Raspberries are easy to pick and a pleasure to share with your neighbors.
